In this module, students will learn about the rich history of trade in Oman throughout time. From understanding the history of trade in Oman, students will explore the rich maritime history of the country and the country, and regions, important trade of oil and petroleum to the world. During this module students will: 

• Understand geography and cartography

• Maritime history and the legend of Sinbad 

• The geometry of sailing, navigation 

• Dhow boat construction 

• Zanzibar and the Spice Trade 

• Globalization and Trade of the GCC (OPEC, GCC, Arab League, UN) 

• Oil and Petroleum industry (PDO or Orpic) 

• Current events relating to oil and the region
